Things are getting a little spooky at Deer’s Glade this October half term
Autumn is a lovely time to escape to the Norfolk countryside, and if you’re staying with us over the school holidays, there’ll be a little extra Halloween fun waiting for you.
From exploring our Halloween trail to meeting some very special visitors. Dust off the costumes, pack the decorations and get ready for a spooktacular half term at Deer’s Glade.
So what's being featured this year?
Walk the Halloween Trail
Pull on your wellies and head out around Deer’s Glade to follow our Halloween trail. Think woodland, creepy surprises and plenty of things to spot along the way. Keep your eyes peeled. You never know what might be hiding amongst the trees…
Meet the Owls & Creepy Crawlies

We’ll have some rather unusual guests joining us over half term. There’ll be a chance to get up close to owls, as well as meet some creepy-crawly visitors for anyone brave enough!
This will be a ticketed event with limited places available. Guests staying at Deer’s Glade will be given the first opportunity to book, before any remaining tickets are made available to external visitors. Tickets will be available to purchase online soon, with full details to follow. Sign up to our newsletter if you're not already subscribed.
Costumes at the Ready
Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without dressing up. Bring your witches, ghosts, vampires, monsters and whatever else you can dream up. There’ll be a prize for our best-dressed guests. And four-legged guests can join in too! If your dog is happy dressing up, we’d love to see their Halloween outfits as well.
Give Your Pitch a Halloween Makeover
Transform your pitch or accommodation for Halloween. Bring a few decorations along and get creative.
Pumpkins, cobwebs, ghosts, skeletons… subtle or completely over the top, it’s up to you. We’ll be taking a look around and choosing a best-decorated pitch or accommodation, with a prize for our favourite.

And if you need a pumpkin or two, Alby Pumpkin Patch is just down the road from Deer’s Glade. Pick your favourites, bring them back to the site and put them to good use decorating your pitch or accommodation, or save one for a bit of pumpkin carving.
Food, Treats & Easy Dinners
Our food trucks will be with us over Halloween weekend, serving up some familiar Deer’s Glade favourites, ideal after a busy day out or when nobody fancies cooking. If you do fancy cooking yourselves, pop into the Deer’s Glade shop, which will be stocked with fresh local farm favourites alongside products from some great Norfolk brands. And, of course, there’ll be treats for when something sweet is required.
Exploring Norfolk While You’re Here?
There’s plenty happening beyond Deer’s Glade during the school holidays too.
We’ve put together our Halloween Fun this October Half Term guide with ideas for days out, Halloween events and places to visit around Norfolk, so you can plan a few adventures away from the site too.
October half-term stays are available to book now.
