A Unique Autumn & Winter Glamping Experience
Glamping in a Stargazer Bell Tent is all about balance: the fresh, open feel of camping combined with the warmth and comfort of home. Each tent is fully furnished, but in the colder months, we go further to make sure your stay is snug and welcoming. The Stargazer Bell Tents are fitted with an extra insulation liner, and we provide a 13.5 tog duvet, extra blankets, an electric blanket, and an electric heater. These thoughtful details help you stay warm and cosy, even on the coldest nights.
Stargazing With a Sauna or Hot Tub
Guests can choose from two types of Stargazer Bell Tent during autumn and winter: one with a private sauna or one with a hot tub. Both provide a memorable way to embrace the season - combining fresh, star-filled skies with the comfort of your own private sanctuary. There’s nothing quite like sitting back in a bubbling hot tub, gazing up at Norfolk’s famously dark skies, or warming through in your own sauna after a long countryside walk.
Why Stargazing in Winter Feels So Special
Cold, clear nights make for some of the best stargazing conditions. In autumn and winter, the skies are darker and the constellations appear sharper - a breathtaking sight from the comfort of your own bell tent. The stillness of the season adds to the atmosphere, making it the perfect time to escape the everyday and reconnect with nature. The magic lies in the contrast. Step outside into the crisp air to admire the stars, then return to the warmth of your tent, hot tub, or sauna.

Staying Comfortable in a Bell Tent
Even with all the extra comforts we provide, it’s important to remember that a bell tent is still a tent, and dressing for the season is key. Pack plenty of warm layers, cosy socks, hats, and sturdy footwear to stay comfortable when moving around outside and in. At night, you’ll find lots of blankets available, but we always recommend thermals and layering up - it’s far better to have the option of removing a layer than not enough to keep the chill away.
Simple touches can make your stay feel especially cosy. Pre-warming the tent with the electric heater, switching on the electric blanket before bed, or bringing along extras like a hot water bottle or insulated slippers can all add to the comfort. Each tent comes with a kettle and microwave in the kitchenette, so you can easily prepare a hot water bottle or heat up a Warmie before you turn in. A little ventilation also goes a long way, helping to keep the tent fresh and prevent dampness. With the right preparation, staying warm becomes part of the experience - adding to the charm of a winter glamping break in rural Norfolk.
Top Tips for Staying Warm in a Bell Tent
Layer up – Thermals, jumpers, warm socks, gloves, and hats help lock in body heat.
Use what’s provided – Take advantage of extra blankets, the 13.5 tog duvet, and your electric blanket.
Keep your feet warm – Rugs are in place, but we suggest insulated slippers to make chilly mornings and evenings much more comfortable.
Warm up before bed – A hot shower, a session in the hot tub or sauna, or a brisk walk will raise your core temperature before you sleep.
Bring cosy extras – Hot water bottles, Warmies, or a flask of hot chocolate are simple comforts that make all the difference.

Be Aware: WC & Shower Facilities are Separate
The glamping village facilities - including private showers and toilets for bell tent guests - are very close by, but separate from the tents themselves. A quick walk, literally a few seconds, in the fresh air adds to the outdoor experience, but warm footwear and a coat or a thick dressing gown will make it much more enjoyable.
